The Bucintoro’s fleet was born even before the society itself with the “Dodesona” – its flagship built in 1874 – now at the third rebuilding of this type of boat.
Although not the primary vocation of the rowing club, starting from the first Vogalonga in 1975, the revival of this traditional form of rowing led the RSCB to acquire the remarkable number of 28 Venetian boats. The club fleet today consists of the light and versatile mascarete, sandali, traditional puparini and caorline, the more celebrated gondolas and balotinas, one of which was made by the expert hands of Giuseppe Giuponi, maestro d’ascia, whose work marked the recent history of Venetian shipbuilding.
